2nd Helping of Hawk

CLEVELAND – Mike Woodson, getcha timeouts ready!  The Cavs, in a very similar situation to the Detroit series, look to improve on an easy game 1 win Thursday night.  While all the other series have action, suspense, technical fouls, ejections and 2 teams believing they can win, the Cavs continue to turn the NBA playoffs into their own exhibition.  The only questions about what will take place in the Q during game 2 are what color the shirts will be, and who gets to handle the national anthem and halftime show.

In game 1 defensively the Cavs came out rusty and Atlanta executed well in the 1st half.  Mike Bibby shot well and the Cavs bigs played poorly.  Tonight look for the C-L-E to take it to Joe Johnson, The Bibbster and Josh Smith when they have the ball.  The rumor on the mean streets of St. Clair and Euclid is that the Hawks shoot free throws like Chris Dudley.  Offensively look for Atlanta to adjust and throw more bodies at The MVP, while he goes on to hit the other Cavs for more than 3 dimebags.  It should be highlight city from the start as the big witness poster flashes the neon green M-V-P letters.  Going back to last season, the Hawks do not just lose playoff games, they take Wolverine-like beatdowns.  Combine that with the hottest team in basketball who according to LeBron attempts to skull-crush every game, and tonight should be ugly.  I’ll take the Cavs 108-75.

In other news the Lake-show won a must-win war against Houston last night and the series is looking more and more like it could be a classic.  Ron Ron showed some of his old self and dun went and got run.  Derek Fisher, possibly frustrated he is shooting like 2% of late, decked Luis Scola and also got run.  Kobe dropped another elbow and got T’d up for taunting who’s-your-daddy.  Despite the heated nature of the game it is still a bad sign the Lakers at home gave up an early big lead against a team which already had assured a split.  Lastly, Boston and Orlando are playing basketball in the NBA still, I guess, and that’s very cute.  GO CAVS!
